I got these earrings in Ireland when I went there with my dad in 2004 (gosh, that was over six years ago!).
But here's what I wanted to talk about. Guess what I got in the mail yesterday?! The Lil Kim mixtape that I ordered on Paypal what seems like a month ago finally arrived! I was so excited when I opened my mailbox and saw this little package inside waiting for me that I gave out a scream, much to Ben's annoyance. "Why are you shrieking?" he asked me. "Because it's Kimmy Blanco, bitches!!" I said and ran upstairs gleefully.

I asked Ben if he would take a photo of me holding the package, just to prove that it really arrived. I know a lot of people doubted that Lil Kim was ever going to record the Black Friday mixtape, let alone release it, so this here is PROOF! :) The thrill of receiving this mixtape consumed me so much that I didn't even take my coat off before Ben could snap a picture.
The mixtape itself is pretty good. It's not amazing-- there is a little bit too much autotune for my taste, and a few of the songs I had heard already on Youtube (which actually isn't anyone's fault but mine) so I didn't get the maximum surprise effect. Black Friday is comprised of 20 tracks, one of which is a sixteen minute long radio interview in which the Queen explains her situation with Sicki Garbaj (that's Nicki Minaj for those of you not aware of the rap beef between the two ladies). Kim's rhymes are hot and she still manages to emit a chuckle from me with her punchlines. I really like the macabre and menacing beat on "Hustle Hard," which sounds like it took a cue from the Halloween theme. The "Pretty Girl Rock" remix, "Kimmy Girl" featuring Keri Hilson, is fun and Rihanna's guest appearance on "Cheatin" is soulful with an island-vibe and feels like a shout-out to Lauryn Hill. I need to listen to the album a few more times before I can make any conclusive opinions, but it's definitely worth the ten dollars I spent.

Yes, people! The CD is real!!
