Water for food for thought-- sip on this

March 22, 2012 came and went and I didn't hear so much as a peep on social media about World Water Day, a day to spread awareness about clean water and water conservation, a day of action brought forth by the United Nations since 1994. I only knew about it because an email titled "Get off the bottle" was sent to my office address.

You might recall that I have a strong opinion regarding plastic water bottles, but really I just have a strong opinion regarding pollution and short-sighted thinking.

We all need water to live (humans, animals, plants, the earth), but we waste it and poison it without thinking twice. Maybe we should think a little bit (or a lot) more about where our water comes from and just how precious it is.

Making small changes is all it takes to make a difference, like cutting down on animal products. It's something to consider.

According to the World Water Day website: To produce food, water is consumed by the plants in the field through evaporation and transpiration.

The amount of water needed varies with crops and depends from place to place, on local productivity and conditions of available water supply through rainfall or irrigation.

Once the product is harvested and becomes available on the market, the water embedded in the product changes status from ‘real’ water to ‘virtual’ water.

Check out this chart. To those of us who grew up without ever learning the Metric system, a liter is about four cups in the English system. [unrelated sidenote: The English System was a really cool band that I admired in my high-school years, when I was obsessed with another little band called Breaking Pangaea.]

The ghost with claws, in my bedroom-- a true story

Ghosts (DC Comics)Ghosts (DC Comics) (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
I accept the existence of ghosts.

I don't want to say that I believe in them, because I think "believe" is too strong of a word, but I've had enough weird things happen to me that I really cannot discount the existence of ghosts.

I've also heard way too many stories from people who don't have anything to gain by lying to me about their paranormal encounters. It really makes me wonder.

Last night as I lay relaxing in bed, trying to fall asleep I had a funny thing happen. Every time I closed my eyes I would feel something pressing down on my face.

Whenever I opened my eyes the pressure would abruptly stop, and whenever I closed my eyes the pressure would begin again. This is not new. This is something that's been happening to me on occasion for months.

I don't think it's my sleep paralysis acting up again, because I was definitely fully awake, but I don't know what is about.

Maybe it's a symptom related to my TMJ disorder? It's weird, regardless. This is not what I wanted to discuss, though.

The other night I was laying in bed watching Storage Wars, one of many delightful shows about storage locker auctions and the people who buy to sell the hidden treasures within. Due to the recession (which seems to finally be taking a turn for the up), these shows have become incredibly popular. I like them the same way I like Antique Roadshow-- the idea of finding a priceless treasure in some old junk is very appealing.

Anyway! I was watching Storage Wars, Ben was brushing his teeth in the bathroom, and Sookie was laying on my chest. A commercial was playing and I had the volume on mute, because I hate commercials. I was day dreaming about something and stroking Sookie's back when I heard something rush through the bedroom.

It was the sound of claws on wood, the way Sookie sounds when she's running around the apartment, then the sound of feet trampling over the Persian throw carpet, the same kind of way Sookie scrambles and jumbles up the rug when she's running around the apartment.

I thought it was Sookie, and I looked up to see if she was laying on the carpet. But she was still laying on my chest, with my hand on her back.

It was loud enough to startle Sookie, too. Sook tried to jump up and investigate the noise after it happened, but I held her still.

I don't know how to explain it.

The whole occurrence took place in the span of five seconds. Ben did not hear or see anything, as he was in the other room, but he came in when I called him, clearly tripping out.

I've always wondered what Sookie is staring at when she looking at some invisible thing above my head, or just beyond my shoulder. I also wonder who's she's chasing when she jumps up suddenly and runs around the room. It's freaky, but maybe there's a ghost-dog or ghost-cat that resides in our home. I guess it's time to do another sage burning.

All I know is that I was definitely freaked, and had a hard time falling asleep that night.

Justice for Trayvon Martin, ban "Stand Your Ground"

Trayvon Martin Protest - SanfordTrayvon Martin Rally, Sanford (credit: werthmedia)
This past Saturday afternoon, I posted the following as my Facebook status, a repost from my friend, Dr. Amy Bacharach:

I was shot and killed in a residential neighborhood. My cell phone is on me and my friend is on the phone.

I am found to have been carrying only a bag of candy and a drink. 911 calls from neighbors record my screams for help, in the moments before my death.

No one uses my cell phone to locate my family. No one canvasses the neighborhood to see if someone there knows me.

I am a John Doe in the morgue for three days. But, my body is tested for drugs and alcohol. My killer is not tested for anything. My killer is questioned and released, and he is still free today.

I am Trayvon Martin, and We are better than this.

Repost to get justice for Trayvon Martin and his family

Trayvon Martin was just a 17 year old boy walking back from a 7-11, in Sanford (a suburb of Orlando, Florida), to his dad's fiancee's house where the rest of his family was watching a basketball game. As he walked back, he was talking to his girlfriend on his cell phone, and carrying only a bag of skittles and a can of iced tea.

George Zimmerman is a 28 year old man who followed Martin as he walked home in his SUV, and placed a phone call to 9-1-1 to report the so-called "suspicious" youth. Zimmerman, an untrained town watch volunteer, was well known by the 9-1-1 operators for making numerous calls reporting "open windows" in homes and other non-issues. In 14 months, Zimmerman made 46 calls.

According to Martin's girlfriend, Martin was scared that Zimmerman, some stranger, was following him in a car. She told him to walk quickly away, which is what he did.

To interject with my own opinion here: if I was walking alone and I noticed that a large man in a car was looking at me and following me, I would definitely be freaked out. If he continued to follow me, I would assume that he was trying to hurt me or kidnap me or put me in some other horrible, unthinkable situation, and I would try to get away. If it came to blows, I would fight for my life.

But back to the facts. Florida is one of a few states with a law that says if you feel as if your life is in danger, you have the right to proceed with violence to ensure your safety. It's a self-defense law called "Stand Your Ground" that was lobbied and pushed into action by the NRA and basicially gives citizens the license to kill. Gang members are actually using this law to get away with killing members of rival gangs.

Another opinionated aside: I'm sorry, but there is a reason why we have a police force: so when danger strikes, trained officers can respond and attend to the manner according to protocol. If you are chasing someone because you don't like the way that they look you have absolutely no claim to "self defense."

This really scares me, because it opens the floodgates for all kinds of madness. Will people who have bouts of roadrage claim self-defense when they gun down another driver for moving too slow? Will that douchey guy at the bar be able to claim self-defense after blowing away because another man for looking at his girlfriend? I don't want to live in that world. Do you?

Photobucket

Typically, if you happen to kill in self-defense, your story gets checked out and investigated and is brought to trial. If it was truly self-defense and you have evidence to prove it, there is nothing to worry about. If I ever had to kill in self-defense, I would want the case to be investigated in order to clear my name. But then again, I'm a law abiding citizen with an absence of blood lust.

We don't really know what happened when Trayvon Martin was killed because the case has not yet been investigated-- under the Stand Your Ground law, the shooter gets the benefit of the doubt. Zimmerman claims that he was attacked and shot Martin to save his own life, but that seems fishy to me for a few reasons.

- Zimmerman was following Martin.

- Zimmerman confronted Martin, thus he is the aggressor.

- Zimmerman claims that Martin bashed his head into the sidewalk and broke his nose, yet he was not taken to the hospital, and on recently released footage just 30 minutes after the shooting, Zimmerman has no blood on his clothing or visible injuries.

There are recordings of Zimmerman gruffly demanding Martin to identify himself, without Zimmerman identifying himself as a neighborhood watchman. He chased after Martin on foot.

Later, several neighbors made 9-1-1 calls when they heard the cries for help being called out.

Two ladies in the neighborhood saw Zimmerman straddled across Martin, holding his back down with his hands.

And then there was a gun shot. And then the yelling stopped.

This happened exactly a month ago, and now it has finally gotten national attention and the case will be investigated by the US Justice Department. Thank goodness. Hopefully Trayvon Martin's family will get some justice.

There are some who are claiming that the "liberal media" is bending the truth in its reports of the case in Martin's favor. I don't know about that, because all I want, and what many others want, is to to know what happened and to get justice for Trayvon Martin's family.

Some of the comments I've read on the internet about the case blame the victim and are so horrible and racist, I had to stop reading because the level of hatred combined with stupidity and bigotry was making my brain whimper.

There is talk about filing the case as a hate crime, but I don't think that is necessarily the best idea, as the strong rhetoric takes away from the actual brutality of the crime. The real racists are going to cause such a flurry in the media and spin it to make it seem like the people defending Martin's memory are racists for seeing race in the first place. It's just a clusterfuck.

No matter which way you look at it, a boy who was well-liked and seemingly had a promising future is dead. He will never be able to share his side of the story. The least we can do is investigate Trayvon Martin's death and prosecute his killer, and reconsider this horrible "license to kill" law.

Obesity in America

Obesity in America, what do you think about it?

I think if everyone just walked a little more or rode a bicycle every once in a while instead of driving so often, we'd all be healthier. Not only would we be getting exercise, but the amount of smog would be cut down. Again, if we all had meat-free day every week, our bodies would be healthier and the environment would be healthier.

Is that naive?

Everything is okay in moderation, even fast food. I happen to have a passion for crispy french fries, and I allow myself to indulge in them once a week. I don't eat too many sweets, but I have an industrial sized bag of M&Ms in my fridge that I take a little scoop out of every night for a snack while watching prime time television. I also cook homemade meals every night and incorporate vegetables into my dishes as many ways as I can imagine

Buying locally grown produce (there are farmer's markets just about everywhere these days, check one out and pick up some seasonal goodies) and knowing where your food comes from is another big step. I don't eat at McDonald's, KFC, Burger King, and other major chains because I have big questions about how their food is sourced and prepared.

I make an exception for In-n-Out, go ahead call me a hypocrite, but at least I can see the people behind the counter taking whole potatoes and putting them in that device with a lever that turns them into shoestrings. Who doesn't love In-N-Out?

I'd rather eat a burger made from a cow that lived on a farm and was given free space to roam and just be a cow. Those burgers taste better, because the animal was not treated with antibiotics, hormones, and disinfectant cleaners before being served to me

You've got to wonder, with all the weird stuff that we do to food and all the strange ingredients that we put into food nowadays, is this why obesity has run so rampant? What do we need to do as a society to fix this?

Why you won't catch me watching The Hunger Games

"Don't... don't... don't... don't believe the hype (wah-ha-ha)"
-- Flavor Flav, of Public Enemy, in "Don't Believe the Hype"

When so many people are talking about some pop culture sensation, I have a hard time finding interest (unless Leonardo DiCaprio is involved.. *swoon*). It's the contrarian in me. Sure, I miss out on some pretty cool things this way, but I can't help it.

When everyone was buzzing with excitement over Eat Pray Love, I rolled my eyes and took Allen Ginsburg's name in vain.

So this summer when I couldn't log into Twitter without being bombarded with friends and internet people squealing with glee over The Hunger Games, I pretty much held my breath for EPL two point oh.

I know the basic premise, and it smells remarkably similar to an excellent Japanese film from years ago called Battle Royale. Yeah, they may not be the exact same thing, but I have a feeling that I won't be missing out. And besides, anytime I feel like someone is pushing a product on me, whether it be a book, movie, razor blade, whatever, the more likely I am to ignore what is being pushed.

And don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on it. I hope the people who read the books and watch the movies walk away from them and think twice about the way society is heading and what we can all do to positively change the future.

If you embrace the message of The Hunger Games, I hope you also embrace the 99 Percent Movement.

Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but I still think this little meme I made is funny:

PS-- I'm so late to hop on the meme generator bandwagon, but it's pretty cool. Also, a lot easier than trying to create something decent looking using Photobucket editing tools and text.

"Tickle my funny bone!" Humorous Ring of Death songs

Photobucket

Hello, Karaoke Ring of Death fans! For the month of March we decided to sing funny songs, which thrilled me because I've been wanting to do this theme for a while now. There are so many funny songs that make me giggle, and they're not all by Weird Al (though I do love me some Weird Al).

The song I chose is "All Men Are Liars" by Nick Lowe, a song that I grew up listening to (my dad put it on one of his road trip mixed tapes) and still enjoy to this day. You can check that out at Kanriah's blog, One Red Wall.

Today I am hosting Lost from Grind My Gears and a hilarious song I'd never heard before called "The Birthday Song." Please enjoy, but if you are quick to get offended you might want to skip it. Or take a chill pill :)

Happy KROD! Don't forget to peep the master list on our official KROD blog!

"I don't know your life, bitch!" - a true story

Photobucket

The last time I came back from visiting my folks, I made sure to bring a number of my old books and notebooks back to San Francisco. Inside of those notebooks were loose pieces of paper that I've kept over the years for one reason or another.

The images you see here were all drawn on the opposite side of a "Whole Foods Employee of the Month" certificate, which is really just a computer printout of an unflattering photo of me (which is why you do not see it here) with some random facts about myself.

My friends Jon and Alexis and I were sitting at a coffee shop when Jon told us a funny story about one of his relatives.

Jon's aunt or uncle (I can't remember, but it doesn't make a difference to the story) was on a business trip out of town, staying at a hotel with not a lot of food options nearby.

After a long plane flight, they checked in to their hotel and decided to go to KFC, which was the closet restaurant and seemed most appetizing at the time. Despite the KFC being clean inside, it was empty except for one visible KFC employee and one customer.

Photobucket

The woman working behind the counter had an intricate hairdo and extremely long false fingernails. As she waited for the customer to place her order, she leaned on the counter and scratched her head with one of her long acrylics.

The one customer in the store finally made up her mind and ordered a family meal, enough food for four people. The worker, continuing to scratch her head with the fake nail, looked at the lady and asked "Do you want that for here, or to go?"

The customer was clearly offended. She started yelling and cursing at the KFC worker, asking her what the hell her problem was, why did she think she would want to eat a family sized meal all by herself, et cetera et cetera.

The KFC worker didn't blink an eye and said, "I don't know your life. Bitch."

When I tell the story I like to add in that extra pause before the word "bitch," for dramatic effect.

Photobucket

I don't know why we all found the story to be so funny, but the last time Alexis and I were together we told the story to my friend, Newel. We still crack up telling it. "I don't know your life, bitch" was a favorite catchphrase among my friends for a little while.

Sidenote: "Talk About It" written in script in the first image is a saying my friend Jon and I used to say, derived from a moment when I misspoke and said "talk about it" when I meant to say "tell me about it." I took that phrase and adapted it for the title of my zine, Be About It.

Do you have a similarly ridiculous story that has stuck around with you over the years? Tell it to me here!

A Day in the Life of the Internet

This week I received not one, not two, but three separate emails from two different parties asking if I would be interested in posting an infographic on this site. A lady named Jen asked if I was interesting in posting this graphic about the internet found my site by doing a search for "social media." Pretty cool.

I'm sure I'm not the only blogger to whom the promotion was offered, but it still makes me feel good that my site is being found high on the search results lists and being sought after for infographic proliferation. This is a pretty sweet IG, too. It's pretty crazy just how many emails get sent out over the course of the day :)

Happy Friday!

Sookie's feral cousins, regal kitties in the hood [need advice]

I like to walk home from work in the evenings, when the sun is going down and the air is cooling. The three mile stroll gives me the chance to stretch my muscles and clear my head after sitting down for eight hours during a stressful day crunching numbers and handling customers over the phone and in my office. It's a nice break to relax and unwind before coming home to clean and cook.

Photobucket

I walk through numerous different neighborhoods on my route home, as is the norm in San Francisco. There are so many little neighborhoods here, or microhoods, which span a few blocks before shifting to a new microhood.

I pass through areas full of drug addicts and prostitutes waiting by the doors of various rent-by-the-hour hotels and seedy bars, posh boutiques and eateries, hungry homeless people waiting in line to receive a meal, auto galleries and diners, low-rent housing and polished Victorians. There isn't much middle ground in this city: you have the struggling hand-to-mouth poor and the uber rich. Even though I have a job now, I still fall in the struggling category.

Photobucket

In one of the working class neighborhoods I pass through, I usually see this little group of black cats hanging out together. Each time I see them I stop to kneel down and say hello. Yes, I'm a crazy cat lady and I do talk to animals-- so what? They're really pretty cats with rich, black fur and that fluffy lion's mane at their neck that gives a regal impression, similar to my Sookie.

I feel bad for these cats because they're living on the street and eating god only knows what. Maybe someone in the neighborhood takes care of them, but I pretty sure that they're feral and probably not fixed.

A while back, I posted on Facebook about the cats and asked friends for their opinion on feeding them. The consensus was to trap them and turn them into the SPCA to get them fixed and then release them back. I've never done anything like this before, so I'm a little hesitant, and on my recent walks home I have not seen the cats.

What would you do? Would you feed the cats, or trap them? My reservation when it comes to trapping, beyond inexperience, is that I don't want to trample on someone else's property in a neighborhood where I don't live and unintentionally anger the neighbors. It's not my block, nor even my hood, after all, and I don't want to overstep any boundaries. Besides, what if the cats are someone's pets?

I read a horrible true story about a man who trapped feral cats and took them to the SPCA to be euthanized and mistakenly trapped someone's indoor/outdoor cat and killed him. While I wouldn't do anything like that (our SPCA is a no-kill shelter, and I don't believe in euthanizing healthy animals), I still don't want to anger anyone, including the kitties.

What would you do? Get the kitties fixed, or leave them be?

UPDATE-- My mom sent me this email...

Hi honey,
I saw your post about the "feral" kitties. Do the cats run when they see you see or can you approach them and get close? If you try to trap them you might not get the cat but something else entirely. I would leave them be especially if they look healthy.
How is everything else? Sound like you're working hard.
All's well here.

Love ya,
ma

They don't run from me, but they don't get close, either. I've tried putting my hand out for them to sniff, but they keep their distance. They look reasonably healthy, just a little shabby from living outside.

I'm mostly paranoid about the neighbors. I wouldn't want some stranger planting a trap outside of my house. That would not be cool.

Tsaritsa & Hip-Hop Part 3: Musical future, facing flaws, making time

Graffiti "Hip Hop" in Eugene, Oregon.Image via Wikipedia
"You need some work," my sister told me over the phone when I asked her if she had listened to the songs I had posted.

"I mean, you have some funny lines, you had me laughing, but I think you need to discover your own style."

I completely agree with her.

check out and download (for free!) my two new songs "Baloney" and "Modern Day Hustla."

I'm still figuring things out for myself. Sure, I've been writing songs ever since I could sing a song, but that doesn't mean what I was doing was any good. My sister has good taste in most things and I respect her opinion. Musically, I influenced her a lot growing up, but in more recent years she has been an influence to me on what I listen to. And because we're sisters, she knows she can be completely honest with me.

There is a lot that I have to learn, and I believe that I will continue to grow as an "artist" as I go. I just have to keep creating, finding out what works and what doesn't simply by making mistakes and learning from them.

I've gotten some positive criticism so far as well as some negative criticism. I'll take all the constructive criticism that you can dish out-- really, I do want it, so please don't hold anything back-- but if you're just going to tell me that you think I suck and be a dick about it, then I can't really take that to heart.

No matter who you are, no matter what you do, some people are just not going to like what you're doing, but you can't let that stop you. If anything, it's motivation to do more, and to do it better.

My style is still undefined, and I plan on developing my style as I continue recording. Hopefully, the tracks I present to you will be increasingly tighter sounding and more refined. I'm documenting my experience here not only so that others can watch my progress, but so

Since I started recording, I have learned a few things. When it comes to the importance of good equipment and patience when it comes to production, I have definitely learned that lesson. My early recordings sound muffled and grainy, and it's because I was covered the microphone with a sock to help filter the vocal tracks. Middle Class Musician gave me the tip of using a stocking instead, and it sounds so much better.

That being said, I want to invest a little bit of money on a decent microphone, and perhaps take Ben's suggestion and try a course in beat-making at San Francisco's community college. Getting some skills from a professional producer and buying some proper equipment for myself can't hurt, as knowledge and quality tools make quality product. The only trouble is finding the time, which brings me to another lesson I've learned.

Since I started this job, I have significantly fewer hours of free time to spend whichever way I choose. I wake up early to go to work and get home around seven, when I'm usually exhausted physically from the walk, and mentally from the job. I do some chores and cook dinner and feed the Sookster and then all I really feel like doing is laying down for a spell to relax and decompress my brain.

Being attacked by laser kitties is a part of my daily routine after work. Laser kitties added by Justin N.

What I need to do is start carving out a schedule for myself. It sounds kind of sad, but I really do need to make time to do the things that I enjoy. I'm going to designate Wednesdays and Thursdays, after work, to music making.

I know that if I put it on my calendar that I'll look forward to it all day, because it'll mean that I have something creative to do after work. It's Monday night as I type this, because I've designated Sunday and Monday evenings to solid blogging time. It's good, because it gives me all week to brew up ideas for posts (I find time in between bathroom breaks and lunch hours).

To conclude this post, I want to thank everyone who has shown support and given me advice on this little journey of mine. Let me make this clear: this is not just a hobby or something I'm doing because I think it's funny, I'm doing this because I have a passion for it and it's something that I need to get out.

Like writing, or blogging, it's something I feel compelled from within to do. I'm driven because I need to release. I hope what comes out (sorry if that sounded gross) isn't completely embarrassing. However, I won't let that thought be a deterrent, I'm still going to try, and even if I fail I will have learned something.

This is pretty exciting for me, an adventure of sorts, and of course I want others to join me as we embark on this journey on the Hip-Hop Enterprise. LEGGGGGOOOO

Vital information for your everyday life (tag yourself and play!)

English: Publicity photo of Larry Hagman and B...Image via Wikipedia
I got tagged in a meme by Daniella Robin of Chronicles of a College Girl.

I haven't been blogging too regularly since I started my new job-- I'm tired when I get home, and there isn't enough time for me to even think about a blog post when I'm at the office.

My phone is always ringing or someone's dropping in to pay something off. It's non-stop. So I thought this meme would be a fun way to get the blog juices flowing through my veins again.

1. Converse or Doc Martins?

Doc Martens. I brought the pair I got for Christmas when I was sixteen years old back to San Francisco with me the last time I went to visit my folks in Philly. I love them, they make me feel tough. Steel toes, baby.

2. If you were the Jeannie from I Dream of Jeannie, which celebrity hunk would be your Major Nelson?

Probably John Hamm. Mmmm. Ham.

3. YooHoo or Nesquick?

Quick, back when it was still just called Quick. I liked all the flavors, except vanilla. Nasty.

4. If you could be any place right now where would you be?

I am where I want to be right now, though a getaway to Hawaii would be nice.

Photobucket
Funny photo of Ben checking out this ballerina's butt in a painting.

5. If you could be famous for anything in the world, what would it be?

Writing a hit song, or a hit novel. That would be amazing.

6. What is your favorite color?

Based on my wardrobe you would think it would be black, but I like all colors. I guess my all-time favorites are purple and green, because they look nice with my fair skin and auburn hair.

7. Soap bar or liquid Soap?

Soap bar in the shower, liquid soap for washing my hands.

8. Television show that has ended that you wish lasted longer?

Freaks and Geeks, but really there are too many to name. I'm pretty bummed that the characters I loved from the first season of American Horror Story won't be returning for season two.

9. Blackberry or iPhone?

Neither, I rock the dumb phone.

10. Are you a type A personality?

Probably. What do you think?

11. If you could put together a band of any musicians alive or dead, who would be in it?

It would be dope if Left Eye, Aaliyah, Notorious BIG and John Lennon got together and created a posthumous album.

I also got tagged by Mr. Anthrope of Jim's Fear. Here are his questions!

1. What part of the country/world are you from and do you like it's weather?

I'm from Philly. I like the summers, the heat and the humidity, and spring and fall are also both lovely, but I hate the winters. Living in San Fran where it's 55 degrees Fahrenheit most of the year, I miss Philly's weather, but not the winters.

2. If you could spend a week anywhere on Earth, where would you go?

I've always wanted to go to India.

3. What's your favorite film-- why?

There's not one movie that I can say I love the most, I have too many favorites. But if I had to pick one, it would probably be the first Godfather movie. I love the book and the movie is just as good-- the acting is great, Al Pacino looks so young and fresh, as does Diane Keaton. There are so many scenes in that film that I think about on a daily basis-- the scene where Clemena's making gravy and giving Michael love advice is a favorite in my family.

4. Which celebrity/athlete/world leader would you like to meet (first name that pops in your head!)?

M.I.A., or any of the other ladies on this list.

5) Monster truck or Mini Cooper?

I don't drive, but a Mini Cooper's probably a whole lot easier to park in the city.

6) What was your worst subject in school?

Physics. I don't hate math (I actually love algebra) and I like science, but this class was tough for me. Plus, my teacher had an impenetrable Jamaican accent, which didn't help my attention levels.

7) If you could transform your favorite hobby/pastime into a career, you'd be a professional what?

I'd be a professional rapper, duh! :)

8) You wake up tomorrow and discover you've suddenly become a pro wrestler...what's your theme song/entrance music going to be?

Lil Kim's "Queen Bitch"

9) Opinions on nationalism?

I love the United States, but I'm not a nationalist. When it comes to ideology, I'm a pretty moderate liberal and not an extreme anything, except maybe egalitarian.

10) How do you kill time whenever there's a power outage?

Light a candle and read a book!

11) Jesus VS Darth Vader...who wins the battle of the midi-chlorians?!

Okay, now to open this up to my friends and followers!

Instead of tagging people, I want to keep it open-ended so anyone can participate. All you have to do is copy and paste the questions below on your blog, Facebook page, whatever, and link back to this post. Woo-hoo, let's get started!

1. What is your favorite scent?
2. What is your favorite way to relax?
3. What was your favorite game to play when you were a kid?
4. What did you think you were going to do with your life when you graduated high-school?
5. Chocolate or vanilla?
6. Would you prefer to star on a reality TV show, or participate on an "extreme" game show, like Fear Factor?
7. What would you change in the world, if you had the power?
8. Do you believe in climate change? Ghosts? Aliens?
9. If you could travel back in time to any time period, which era would you choose?
10. What is the most romantic/thoughtful thing anyone has ever done for you?
11. What is your dream career?

...and one more for good luck!

12. Which would you choose, if you could have only one: wealth, wisdom, love, or fame?

Have fun with it! Looking forward to seeing what your come up with :)
